Friday night we had fish

Friday night we had fish and chips and then saw Spy Kids. Harmless enough but the trailer shows better comic timing than the film.

Saturday was market day, then dog school. We went to the Yak for Stalk’s birthday but it was super-fucking noisy so we only stayed an hour. Sadly Stalk did not arrive in that hour. I also thought I heard someone say “Mark O’Meara” in a conversation at another table. But no-one looked my way so maybe they were talking about golf.

Today Nicky is off buying native plants. I am tending to bikes and washing.

Lesson for the day - I never have much to blog about on weekends

I know that I’d use

I know that I’d use file save to make this moment last
and sometimes I’d choose open just to re-live the past
I would use the find function to see where I went wrong
and you could hit escape when I go on and on

I wish I had a refresh button when my day is blue
from the menu choose undo to make it right with you
I wish I had a refresh button to see it all anew
I would use the undo to make this right with you

I would only use the edit to right a little wrong
I wouldn’t play with favourites or bookmarks and so on
I would only use paste when I couldn’t find some string
I wish I could hit new again it we could just begin

I wish I had a refresh button when my day is blue
from the menu choose undo to make it right with you
I wish I had a refresh button to see it all anew
I would use the undo to make this right with you

Lesson - I should have spell checked it.

Well the work week is

Well the work week is almost over and it cannot come a moment too soon. Next week is not so busy which is such a bloody good thing.

When I get quite busy I find it difficult to devote the proper time to things so everything is a bit half arsed. By and large next week I will even have time for lunch most days.

I would like to see Spy Kids on the weekend, it looks both silly and fun. We just have to find a time when no actual kids will be in the cinema.

Lesson for the day - endings to stories are so often so awful, you can’t just fade out on the chorus.

I tried to get a

I tried to get a tune happening for Sarah and Kelly’s train song. Using as few chords as I do there was going to be a time when the only progressions left were the worthless ones. That time may well be now.

I find words easier to write words than tunes and at the moment I am not even doing well on the words. There probably is no point in pushing songwriting in any form when I am this tired. Having said that I would really like some new songs. Songs like Slow Motion and Ringo.

Lesson for the day - where there’s a will there is sometimes still no way.

Sarah G has a dog

Sarah G has a dog at work with her today.

Lesson for the day - I wish I did too.

I finally have a couple

I finally have a couple of hours to clear emails and read blogs.

So post you bastards!

Lesson for the day - it never rains.

Will wonders never cease? The

Will wonders never cease? The all day workshop I was meant to be in will now start at 1pm. This means that for the next three hours I have no meetings at all.

I might go for a walk in the park at lunchtime.

Lesson for the day - Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so - Douglas Adams

This is the most linked

This is the most linked to page from weblogs at the moment, God Angrily Clarifies ‘Don’t Kill’ Rule.

It might take a while to load because the site is so busy.

Lesson - interpretation only gets you so far.

This morning on our morning

This morning on our morning bike ride with dogs EmmyLou pulled Nicky off her bike. The dog is, of course, quite fine but Nicky was a little scratched up. Neither of us is especially sure what happened but it certainly involved the lead being wrapped around the pedal.

Lesson - show me a dog with a basic understanding of mechanics and I’ll show you a cartoon dog.

Just after my last blog

Just after my last blog yesterday my boss made the appropriate gesture my way that it was time for a wee drink. Normally this is a Friday night activity but I try not to be one to stand on ceremony. Anyway I had a drink with Danger and Michelle and then headed off.

All of this was pretty much enough for me to get it into my head that yesterday was Friday. Of course that made today Saturday which was pretty good news until I realised that today is Friday.

Now I am just all out of sorts. And I think I am getting an ulcer which really sucks. So I bought a packet of Tim Tams on the way to work this mornings.

Lesson for the morning - Fridays are good but they just don’t compare to a Saturday.
