If I didn’t have comments I don’t know that I would feel compelled to blog in the way that I do.

I was thinking about comments and such things and it struck me that it is much nicer when people say something.
If I didn’t have comments I don’t know that I would feel compelled to blog in the way that I do.
Lesson for the day - it’s about people.
Some people seem to link all over the shop and others not at all.
But mostly people seem to be one or the other, having 40 odd blogs they link to or none at all.
The small circle I read seems to be the exception with less than ten links as a rule.
I have to wonder if they people who have 40 actually read them all. Do they remember who is who? Do they care? Do I care?
Perhaps lots of outbound links is a good way to get links back to your site. Chances are this works. The other side of this is how much people take notice of one of forty links.
All of this is probably just sour grapes given that only a very few people link to me. On the bright side I suspect that almost everyone who links actually reads this page now and then.
Lesson for the day - there is more to a link than an href code.
I was thinking that there is a fine line between a minimalist design and one that is just dead boring.
I don’t think my page is anywhere near this line.
It struck me that I rarely see a page as plain as mine. Perhaps that makes me special, I thought.Perhaps it makes me dull. Perhaps the whole world can see how dull I am. So I toddled off to BlogSkins and looked at this and that.
Then I decided it was all too hard and my current design will do just find.
Lesson for the day - inertia can be your friend.
I was touched to see a mention of the Leopard on Fiona’s guestbook.
Lesson for the day - A little leopard goes a long way.
Fiona has finally put a guestbook on Girl Interrupting so go and say hello if you are feeling like being friendly.
I notice she already links to Shannon, Kristen and me so she is certainly doing all the right things ![]()
Lesson for the day - it’s nice when the world talks back.
I got home a bit late from work and the Paddle Dog and I could have made it to dog school but it would have been a mad rush.
I also justified my slackness with Nicky having been home alone all day and me skipping dog school providing her with a bit of company.
So the Paddle Dog will just have to try to get promoted into Control next week.
Lesson for the day - sometimes it is ok to be slack.
I have probably alluded to this before but I think we are all big enough and enough to hear the truth plainly.
I am a pretty bad singer.
Not as bad as I was but still just plain bad.
Given this I think I might get around to deleting my songs from mp3.com.au
Lesson for the day - it’s one thing to be awful and another to advertise the fact.
There is a good reason why I am not writing new songs at the moment and it is alarming in its simplicity.
I just have nothing to say.
I could just write joke songs but, an contrary to popular opinion, I don’t see that as my thing. I know lots of people think my songs are thinly veiled comedy numbers but I actually think of them as being more personal.
Not deeply personal but personal all the same.
Lesson for the day - if something just doesn’t work for you then don’t do it.
Well I managed to get through five days without an aspro but the four meeting on Tuesday broke that.
I could have just sat there aud been all stoic but it really isn’t my thing.
Lesson for the day - go with your thing.
As expected this afternoon has been both busy and mental. And I would love to say that I am taking it all in my stride but that’s not the case because my tooth hurts.
Lesson for the day - some days are better than others.
