Quick Death
31 07 2003Sean and I had a second game of chess. Actually I am not sure it was a game as such, more a one sided slaughter.
Time for game three.

Sean and I had a second game of chess. Actually I am not sure it was a game as such, more a one sided slaughter.
Time for game three.
Lesson for the day - play to your weaknesses.
I recorded a couple of tracks for Lucky this morning.
And I was going to write some more of this blessed so-called-book.
Then the power died.
So I didn’t.
Lesson for the day - stick to your story.
I was thinking that it would be nice to have another bloggers’ dinner. Nothing flash, especially as about half of us are not working full time.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking about the week after next.
Lesson for the day - it’s nice to actually see people.
To appease my remaining four readers I decided to put more information on my front page again. I figure that it is a bit arrogant of me to expect y’all to login for every scrap.
I did think of waiting until I dropped down to three readers but that just seemed to be sailing a bit close to the wind for someone as inherantly cowardly as me.
Lesson for the day - you should give in to suggestions in the end.
I thought it might be worth a giggle to ring the power company and see what the recorded annoucements say about when the power will be back.
It has been out for about half and hour now so they should have something to say for themselves.
Not only is there no annoucement, there is no nothing. Perhaps the power is out there also.
Lesson for the day - send lawyers, guns, and batteries.
Nicky was on the cordless phone talking to her Mum. I was using the iMac to write some more of Only You Can Stay The Same. The breadmaker was an hour away from finished.
All in all they chose a great time for the power to just up and die.
Then I had a bright idea. I’ll take the bread out of the breadmaker and put it in the regular oven. The top runs on gas but the oven itself is electric,
Damn damn damn.
In case you were wondering, I am typing this on the palm pilot.
Lesson for the day - hooray for batteries.
This site, Red Paper, might be a good way for me to sell copies of Only You Can Stay The Same.
It is very much set towards a smallist price point but given that the whole thing will be lucky to be 5,000 words that’s probably not the end of the world.
It would, at least, we a way to see if anyone would pay anything for it.
Lesson for the day - sometimes things appear in Wired News at just the right time.
A big shout you to Shazza who managed to get another job at the eleventh hour and will be continuing to work for the company for years yet with any luck.
I hope Lunchbox has similar luck. Firstly because he is my friend and I want things to go well for him. Secondly I don’t want to have to listen to him crying like a whiny little bitch. Although I would like to go bowling. Which might make up for the crying. Actually it would certainly make up for it.
I wish him well all the same.
Lesson for the day - sometimes good news comes at the last moment.
I had planned to record the basic tracks for a couple of songs today.
Moofie Star went well, better than expected if truth be told.
By and By didn’t really work at all. Perhaps another day.
Lesson for the day - things take time.
I would like to get some washing done today but it is just raining constantly and heavily. I probably also should walk puppies but the rain pretty much rules that out. I could, of course, rug up and walk them anyway.
But I’m not going to.
Lesson for the day - so there.
