For Dangerous Boys
This morning I very happily received a couple of presents from Finn and Leila. The first was some Rocky Road and it’s downright impossible to be unhappy about that. The second was a book, The Dangerous Book for Boys, which I have been eyeing off for a few weeks now.
It is written in the style of Boys Own manuals. It is slightly tongue-in-cheek and substantially genuine. In short it is everything a reference book should be. The more often I flipped through it in the shops the more I thought I’d like a copy. In fact I was so taken with it that just yesterday I bought a copy for Finn to give to is Granddad and almost bought a second copy for myself.
Now I know that it’s just as well I didn’t.
Lesson for the day – sometimes holding off on an impulse is just the right thing to do (and I think it might say just that on page 123)
