Preparing activities and rolls so other people can take my classes tomorrow. If only there was some preparation faerie to do all of this.

Great. Now that I can only say four words without stopping it makes me sound a bit like Christopher Walken.

The Ex

Last night we watched a film called The Ex for a series of reasonably good reasons.

1. It looked like a light comedy and we were not in the mood for anything to heavy or serious.
2. It has Jason Bateman who was very funny in Arrested Development.
3. It has Charles Grodin who was very funny indeed in Midnight Run.
4. It has Zach Braff who always plays the same dopey character but this is what it is.

And all of these were good enough reasons. And happily the film wasn’t awful. But it wasn’t much better than mediocre either. It was almost as if each person was filmed separately and then put into the scene. Part of this is because the individual characters were meant to be people out of their element or apart from others but part of it just felt like failed execution of this film.

Lesson for the day - if you don’t expect much then it’s ok to get what you expect.

It is basically impossible to see our regular doctor on the day you call and the new doctor is closed today. Will try again in the morning.

I know it’s uncool to do so but I actually quite like the official version of Scrabble on Facebook. Not perfect but it’s not bad either.

Fully Sick

School has been like a ghost town this week and it took a bit of the week for me to realise that heaps of kids have been away with the same cold. Around the middle of the week I developed a nasty sounding cough but I hoped I could tough it out.

The weekend has put that idea in it’s place. So now the plan is to go to the doctor for some medicine and a medical certificate. The second part of the plan involves writing up some lessons for Monday and Tuesday. The final, and most clever part of the plan, involves taking it very easy indeed.

Lesson for the day - know when you are beaten.

Back from the new shops where I got some new dacks and tops for work. Not high fashion but inexpensive and entirely functional.

Back from grocery shopping and more than a little tired and cranky. Not sure if I should press on or flake and have a sleep.
