I find it easy to stay interested in History and English but very difficult to work up or sustain any enthusiasm for Geography.

Maybe that’s because you haven’t yet associated any stories with the subject. Narrative is (or should be) a natural part of history and English and in my uneducated view that’s why they’re naturally interesting. Perhaps you just need to find the interesting stories? I’m sure they’re there.
